Welcome from the Designated Safeguarding Lead & Deputy
At Field End Infants, we recognise that, in order for a child to be ready and able to learn, they must feel physically and psychologically safe and that their emotional needs must be met. As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), we have responsibility for supporting our staff in ensuring that our children are safe and happy at school.
We work closely with staff to ensure that all safeguarding and child protection policies are in place and adhered to. This involves working with all school stakeholders, including staff, governors, parents, volunteers and children to ensure that everyone understands what we must do in order to keep our children safe.
We also ensure that the school complies with its statutory obligations to follow the Prevent Strategy, identifying and safeguarding children who may be vulnerable to radicalisation by extremist groups.
Mrs. Butler, in her role as Attendance Champion works closely with Mrs. Killeen, our Attendance Officer to support us in this role by identifying children for whom attendance is becoming an issue. They explore how to remove barriers to attendance by working with our families.
We also prioritise the mental health of our staff. We have a member of staff currently training as a Mental Health Lead to support staff in looking after their own wellbeing and that of our children.
Should you wish to find out more about aspects of wellbeing we may be able to support you with, please contact the school via email (office@fieldendinfants.co.uk) or phone (02088666163). We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
